My name is Andy Markle and I’m currently a student at Strayer University Online finishing up my bachelor’s degree in Web Design and Information Technology. I’ve been doing web design since I was about 11 years old, so I’m a native to the field and have plenty of experience with different software packages, as well as design and how much it has changed over the years.
I currently live in West Lafayette, IN and do freelance assignments.
I currently hold an Associate’s Degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in Web Design and Interactive Multimedia Development and I have a partially completed Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern Indiana in French and German Studies.
Languages: I currently am fluent in English, French, German, and Swedish. I have done many accounts in German when I worked for Leute AG, a web development firm in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Leute specialized in accounts such as Deutsche Telekom and Allianz.
I currently hold the Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom, or a German fluency certificate issued by the Goethe Institut in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Canadian French, (or, in French: québecois), is my native tongue, so I speak it fluently as well. I was born in Longueuil, Québec, Canada, about 10 minutes south of Montréal. I am also fluent in two other dialects of French, Belgian French (or, in French: wallonais) and Parisian French (or more commonly referred to as France French).
I have taken the Swedex A2 and passed thus acquiring a fluency certificate in Swedish as well. My Swedish dialect is from Skåne, in Southern Sweden.
Software: I am currently familiar with the entire Adobe Creative Suite (CS3) and Microsoft Expression Web and Blend. I am also proficient in Adobe Flex programming as well.
As far as photography is concerned, I am familiar with both black and white and colour blackrooms as well as Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, which is a program designed to “clean up” problems that you find in your photographs to make them have more of a smooth finish.
I work mainly without software (except for the design of graphics), and prefer to handcode.

Programming Languages: I am currently proficient in PHP, Perl/CGI, Ruby on Rails, and Python. I can also program VB applications using Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0. I’m currently learning C and C++ as well as AppleScript.
Database Experience: I am experienced using MySQL database structures as well as Ruby database applications.
